I love when time stops. When something so wonderful stops the spin of life dead in it's tracks.
Tonight was a "No Girls Allowed" night for bedtime, aka a night when just Daddy puts Jackson to bed. He always giggles when we call it this and loves his "boy club" nights which was created by me in an attempt to not have tears on nights when Mommy did not need to be climbing the stairs. This night... five minutes into storytime Jackson remembered that we forgot to say our nightly prayers together before heading up so he flew out of the bedroom and said, "Guys we forgot to say our blessing!" He invited me to meet him and Daddy on the bottom landing and began our prayer for us. Lately he has insisted on saying his dinner blessing at bedtime to, so we were surprised to hear this sweet little prayer.
"Dear God, thank you for Jesus, and Mary, and Joseph. Amen... Dear God, thank you for Mommy and Daddy...and baby brother Colin Michael Reece. Amen."
Tears filled our eyes and time stopped as we sat very cozy on the stairs landing silently thanking God for the blessing of Jackson. What a glorious way to end our day celebrating our family's love and the love God had for us on the most amazing night when his son Jesus was born!
