Let Us Give Thanks

What a wonderful Thanksgiving we had! My sister, her family, and my parents joined us at our house this year to celebrate. They arrived on Wednesday and stayed through Saturday so we had such a lovely unhurried visit.

The boys played non stop. Jackson is totally crazy about his cousins, considering them his "best buddies!" Sean Thomas and Jackson were attached at the hip the entire time and actually for the most part, I'd say 99% of the time, played absolutely beautifully together. Sean and Jackson have such similar interests which makes their play time so fun. They were in constant play mode, dressing up in different costumes, flying around the backyard, dancing in the living room, and shockingly enjoyed a lot of quiet for the most part puzzle time together. Joshua enjoyed playing with the little ones too, but really loves hanging out with us grown ups.

I have some more really great family photos but are using them for Christmas cards so I didn't want to spoil the surprise. My dad was quite the photographer!
Wednesday we hung around the house getting some good catch up time in and then Thursday the girls headed to La Madeline's for my outing of the day while the guys took the boys to the park. How refreshing! That afternoon the guys headed out for the A&M vs. t.u. game and had a blast. They were just as much in need for some good quality "guy time" as we were for some quiet girl time that morning. Thanks Mike, and Mom Reece and Grandaddy for the tickets...they are still talking about how much fun they had.

The Angle family rarely celebrates Thanksgiving Day on the actual day and this year was no exception. Friday held our day of cooking and preparations, which was more of an observation sport for me this year, and then in early evening joined by my Aunt and Uncle, we dove into the yummy goodness of everything Thanksgiving! Mom and Dad thank you for everything you did to make that yummy goodness happen. From the grocery shopping to the execution it was as fabulous as always!

My favorite part of every year is the joyful and warm spirit that Thanksgiving brings to our fellowship. I borrowed my sister's creative idea and made a thankful tree for our centerpiece. As everyone shared the many things they were thankful for this year they recorded them on a maple leaf and hung them on our tree. The result was purely breathtaking! The words of our hearts thanking God for all that He has provided!
Jackson and I spent some time before everyone arrived on Wednesday morning writing down the things he was thankful for and hanging them on our tree. He gave thanks for "Mommy and Daddy, Baby Brodder, friends, Sophie (our dog), Superman, and Lunchables."
Thankful Tree (before everyone added their leaves)Enter His gates with Thanksgiving
and His courts with praise;
give thanks to Him
and praise His name.
For the Lord is good
and His love endures forever.
His faithfulness continues through all generations.
Psalm 100:4-5

I LOVE your thankful tree idea. It is so creative and perfect for helping little ones focus on the real meaning behind the holidays. Adorable! It sounds like your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I love when there is a homemade dinner, and football, and family. It makes Thanksgiving Day memorable and it is a great tradition for your kids to look forward to each year.
