Amazing Grace

Since we moved to Katy almost 6 years ago we've spent many Sundays"churching," shopping for a church if you will. We thought a couple of years ago that we had found a good fit for our family, but as it turned out we found ourselves disappointed with our choice. It was similar to the churches we grew up in, format wise, and they were so supportive during my not so easy pregnancy with Jackson that it seemed like the next step to join. Don't get me wrong it's not a bad church, in fact we have chosen their preschool program to send Jackson to next year and a lot of our friends go there and do enjoy it. It just never felt right for us though.

After a lot of "churching" we have found a place where we can hands down say is a great fit for us! A place full of joy, with down to earth welcoming members, incredible music, insightful sermons, great leadership, and most importantly a place where we feel connected to God in a way that we have never felt before as a couple. We are so excited about our new church home, Grace Fellowship United Methodist, http://www.whatisgrace.org/ !

We leave Sundays feeling inspired, lifted up, with a new knowledge or insight to God's teachings through Jim, the pastor's awesome sermons, wiping away tears from the moving music, and with a joy that carries us through the week. I guess you can tell that I'm pretty excited about this new change in our lives.

Last night we went to our first practice with Grace's Worship Choir and Band. As I looked around at the very talented musicians that I was sitting next to in practice, I thanked God for helping lead us to this wonderful place. We have really missed music being a big part of our lives and are excited that Grace offers an avenue for one of our passions.

And Jackson likes it too! He asks me every day if it's a "sundee cool" (Sunday school)day and if he can go play cars with Mr. Jay, one of his teachers. How sweet!

If you are a friend of mine in Katy that's looking for a church we'd love for you to join us one Sunday!
