Our Trip to Destin

We just got back from our trip to Destin to relax and catch up with our good friends, The Surgalas. It's been almost 3 years since our friends moved to Florida, and a year and a half since we've seen them. They are the kind of friends though that when you see them it feels as if no time has passed except for the fact that our kids are still so little that they drastically change between get togethers.

Our trip was so much fun and such a needed break. We decided to save a little money and drive out there which was not as bad as we thought it might be. We were concerned that this would be way too much strapped in time for our busy little boy, but to our surprise we were more antsy than he was. He slept 6 out of the 12 hour ride and spent the rest of the time watching dvds and playing with car toys. We arrived at the Surgala family beach house in San Destin Beach Resort at 12 a.m., went straight to sleep, and woke up ready to have fun! And fun we had!

Our days were spent relaxing and playing on the beach.
Jackson loved playing in the sand and collecting "sea rocks." (seashells)

I loved snorkeling until the jellyfish arrived. We saw about 10 and luckily did not get stung.
We spent several evening on the wharf, listening to live bands and getting

crabbing lessons from Cooper. We caught about 10 of them!
