We are thankful that our area was not hit hard and the only repercussion for us personally was the loss of power for a while. Yesterday afternoon when it was not back on we decided to load up for an a.c. break and to save our food, so we headed to Bryan's parents house in Bryan College Station. The storm came through there but did not leave it's power loss mark as it did in the Houston area.
As we listened to Ike's howling wind barging it's way through Katy we were I must say a little frightened as we have never experienced that much wind at our house before, but we knew that we were just getting a small dose of what was sweeping through Galveston. As those families head back into town to face possible devastation we feel for them and pray for their safety and a quick return to normalcy.

I am so thankful your Ike story has a happy ending. I also have a heavy heart thinking about the lives lost and changed this weekend. HUGS!
Glad to know you all are okay....as for our parents down in Conroe, yuck! So you guys have power back up, right?
