New Years Resolution

Bryan and I have made a New Years resolution to slow down a bit and enjoy more home time. Turtle speed if you will. Slower and in our own little shell. We are constantly out of town visiting family and friends and even though it's a blast it really wipes us out and leaves little time to enjoy being in our own town, making memories with just our little family of 3. For instance, now I know it was the holidays, but from the beginning of November to the end of December we were only in town 2 out of the 8 weekends. Don't get me wrong we chose to do all of the good stuff in those two months willingly and enjoyed them thoroughly, but it left us with just enough time to get the have tos done around here and left no time to relax in our own surroundings. We realized how much we were craving a weekend like this one we just had. Friday night we had dinner together, put Jackson down early, and watched the Blues Brothers while enjoying a glass of wine together. Saturday we got off pretty early, made some returns, took Jackson to the park, found a new bike for me to pull the trailer we got for Christmas, and had the Spectors over for dinner. Sunday we went to the early service at church, went grocery shopping, had an at home lunch, went on a long bike ride to the park, and spent the rest of the day taking it easy. We looked at each other on Sunday night as were watching yet another Red Box movie and decided that we need a lot more turtle speed weekends like that.
