Pumpkin Time

Mid October we took the boys to the pumpkin patch at Jackson's school. A tradition since Jackson was only about 2 months old when he went as a Jack Rabbit. The boys were a little harder to get pictures of this year with Colin haphazardly climbing over and around the pumpkins and darting from here to there, and Jackson, because he found the "it" pumpkin right off the bat was focused solely on convincing us that we couldn't leave without the "perfect" pumpkin and this one was it. After seeing him roll it from the row all the way to the check out stand with such determination we quite agreed that it was the perfect one and because Colin felt that his very small and sweet pumpkin was the best, the price kind of averaged out.

We have always, without planning it run into a good friend and their kids when we go, but this year we ran into two of our playgroup families as if we had planned to meet up here for a Rowdy Rebel event. Great minds think alike I guess. Saturday evening, when the lighting is good, an off time for heavy pumpkin traffic, before the pumpkins get picked through, after nap and before getting too hungry for dinner to minimize fussiness, and after listing all that I'm surprised we didn't run into the whole group.
And another great thing was that my parents were in town and got to come with us this year. I loved them getting to watch the boys participate in a tradition that we've had for so long. Very cool! Unfortunately I waited to take pictures of them with the kids and they had gone from happy to hungry/grumpy in a matter of seconds.

And then came Halloween.  It was a day of fun filled activities and a whole heck of a lot of sugar!  And of course because we're such Star Wars fans these days the boys chose to dress up as Darth Vader and Yoda.  Jackson was originally going to be Anakin, but for some reason switched gears and  decided that he must be Darth Vader.  It's fun to play the bad guy, right?  And Colin, well I couldn't resist having him wear this sweet little Yoda costume.  His little cheeks smooshed between two enormous green ears couldn't be any cuter.

On Saturday night of Halloween weekend we attended the annual Rowdy Rebel playgroup party hosted at Audrey's house.  It was crazy fun!  Games, sweets and friends galore.  These kiddos have grown up so much this year...boo hoo.  From Tinker Bell to Darth Vader this dynamic group is always sure to have a great time together, not to mention I happen to love hanging out with their parents.

Halloween Monday started of with  parade, followed by a party at his school and then after Bryan got home we went trick or treating with our neighbors.  Jackson had so much fun this year and went until the candy reached the top of his bucket.  He very boldly would go to each door and yell happily "Trick or Treat!" And as a sidenote, he would say "Smell my feet!" but then thanked them as he ran back to the sidewalk.  Colin raced up to about half the doors and about mid way through the long trek started saying "trit treat" and "Hap......Ween!"   The other half of the time he spent in the stroller eating as much as he was collecting. It really was a wonderful night.  The weather was so fresh, the kids looked adorable and we just loved seeing them have so much fun!
And now it's Mid November.  That's crazy!
